Getting Started:
EROSION CONTROL: Because the plants on your property have burned, rain can be a real problem this winter. You will need to prepare your property for the coming winter storms. There are programs in place now that can help you prevent erosion on you property. For more information on Erosion go to our EROSION CONTROL PAGE.
DEMOLITION: You will next need to remove the debris from your site. Beware! The ash and debris from your home may contain toxic compounds! You will need to use the proper safety equipment to work in the ashes of your home. For more information on Demolition and cleanup go to our DEMOLITION PAGE
GROUP SLAB RECYCLING: The MDCA will be coordinating a group demolition bid for Tea Fire survivor’s old foundations and slabs. If your slab needs to be demolished, join our group demolition and recycling program. We intend to crush all concrete locally to save money and trucking costs, and then re-use the concrete for road base. For more information go to our website: www.teafirerelief.com/demolition.htm or contact our Demolition Committee at mdcademo@gmail.com.
DRIVEWAY AND FIRE ACCESS PLANNING: Your driveway will need to meet 2007 Fire Code Requirements for your house to be approved. Make sure you meet these requirements before designing your new home! MORE INFO (PDF)
